Abolish Private Prisons is a non-profit organization founded for one purpose: using the United States court system to end the horrific practice of locking people up for profit. We are currently assembling our legal team and reaching out to the public to explain our mission.
We are a group of lawyers and advocates who were shocked to action when we learned about the existence of incarcerating people for profit. We believe that a small, dedicated group of people can make a large difference in the world by using the judicial system. Inspired by cases like Brown v. Board of Education, we plan to file multiple cases in federal courts across the country, eventually bringing the issue to the Supreme Court for a ruling that profiting off the backs of prisoners violated the United States Constitution.
